Marvel of a transformation

Remodeling ideas transform a neglected house into a beloved home

A sleek white slipper tub and beautiful Medallion Cabinetry replaced an outdated pink bathtub surrounded by a deck of pink marble in the master bathroom.

Oversized porcelain tile accented by horizontal strips of glass mosaic tile were used for the wall behind the soaking tub and shower walls.

The architectural elements featured on the exterior of the home were carried into the interior spaces.

The new kitchen features two-toned cabinetry, a center prep island and a two-tiered island offering bar seating.

Despite years of neglect, the home's original solid mahogany front doors were restored to their former glory.

The stacked stone fireplace and stained built-in bookcases establish the cozy feel in the inviting family room.

The dramatic entry’s original arches and pillars were preserved and worked into the elegant design of the formal living room.

The same pillars and arches seen inside the home were carried to the outdoor living space, creating plenty of entertaining areas for guests.

Distinctive black cabinetry, a glossy black subway tile backsplash, and an eye-catching leaded-glass window allow the wet bar to stand out against the white and cream hues seen in the nearby formal living room.

The homeowners were able to preserve the elegant built-in bookcases, molding and other woodwork in the home office.

Maple hardwood flooring transforms the once-dated master bedroom into a soothing retreat, which offers direct access to the private bathroom through the arched entryway.
