Hyde Park couple creates an outdoor living space worthy of celebration

This elevated deck design, which gets incredible views due to the raised height, was inspired by the homeowner's need for a car port large enough to fit her car.

The homeowners are all about a modern style, evident through everything in this outdoor kitchen, particularly the furniture. A sanded and stained tree stump serves as a side table in the corner while a Crate & Barrel dining table is covered in tiles painted by a local artist.

A small staircase leads down from the porch to an outdoor play area, complete with playset and a putting green, for both the kids and the adults.

A staircase leads down to inviting stone stepping stones and a lush green area that just screams "summer".

With a couple of energetic boys, these homeowners didn't want a fussy deck design that they would be afraid to use, so everything about this space is fun and sturdy, including the Ipe decking, which was made from renewable hardwood and requires no sealing or staining.

A coffee table from a local boutique brings a treehouse feel to a sitting area, with dried limbs wrapping around its legs.

Stepping stones wind around this home, inviting guests to tour the landscape and travel from the front to the back yard.

This dining room sits in a space that was once a screened porch, which enables it to still have spectacular views. As a nod to their relaxed, modern style that homeowners decided to use an orange sectional and custom-upholstered chairs bearing a festive Chinese dragon.

Greenery surrounds this deck design, making the atmosphere even more quaint and family friendly.
