A remodeling project results in a beautiful culinary space with contemporary touches
The island houses a quartz countertop, a farmhouse sink, dishwasher and microwave/warming drawers. The chrome Moen faucet gives a vintage detail to the space.
The remodel led the homeowners to flip flop the original kitchen and dining room, thus creating a much larger culinary space along with additional seating for the busy family.
The newly remodeled kitchen is very kid-friendly with bar chairs made of durable rattan and blue and white woven plastic.
The homeowner didn’t want to disturb the exposed radiators, so she had them covered with wood slats and converted into window seats where the children love to rest. On either side of the benches are appliance garages. One is a coffee bar and the other is a toaster bar. The bottom drawers of these cabinets are refrigerator drawers.
The light fixture in the butler’s pantry/wet bar was the only original light fixture left in the house, as a previous owner removed all the other fixtures. The cabinet in this space is also original, and was given a facelift with a fresh coat of paint.
Artwork and family portraits hang in the cozy breakfast nook, which is also adorned with a massive chandelier and an inviting window seat tucked into the bay window.
