The winter can be hard on your landscape. Jeff Blunkosky, owner of Pittsburgh Stone & Waterscapes, offers a few important gardening ideas that can help your landscape make it through the winter.
Be sure your shrub beds are watered in well by November, especially for newer plant material (1-2 year plantings). Typically the ground freezes and doesn’t allow water to get to the root system, which can dehydrate the plant.
It is important that plant material is mulched in properly to help hold moisture into the ground and keep the plant hydrated.
