What's under the (range) hood

From those of us that enjoy laboring in the kitchen whipping up delectable five star meals to the more simple pasta preparers, range hoods are an important aspect of every kitchen design. As we cook our meals, worrying about what’s simmering and sizzling in the pot or pan, perhaps chatting with a person seated nearby, the range hood is hard at work in the space above, pulling stifling cooking odors and fumes from the air through ventilation fans.  “In addition to improving general air quality, proper ventilation helps maintain surrounding elements like custom cabinets and window treatments by minimizing excess humidity and capturing particles that can build up on surfaces,” notes Jenn-Air representative, Brian Maynard.
