Outbuildings are so in right now

The owner of this Pittsburgh shed says, “I thought it would be a nice spot for afternoon tea.”

All this current talk of she-sheds has catapulted backyard structures—that used to house the likes of lawnmowers—into the limelight. While it’s in vogue for these buildings to be a woman’s answer to a man cave, the uses for these spaces are just as varied as the sheds themselves. We’ve collected a dozen charmers that are favorites among gardeners, fitness buffs, grandparents and tea lovers.

A flagstone path leads from the patio to a 10’ x 10’ gardening/entertaining shed. A window box mimics one found at this home’s driveway entry.
