Modern chic kitchen design meets contemporary elegance

Their home’s kitchen is uniquely stunning. Its tall cabinetry climbs all the way to the 9-foot ceiling, some of which includes glass doors near the top as an accent feature. The cabinets also feature modern flush doors without any of the typical moldings, raised panels or trim pieces you often find in more traditional kitchens. “The flush doors are considered modern but not ultra modern,” says Chuck.

Cambria quartz countertops paired up with gray and white glass tile for the backsplash add to the contemporary feel. “The kitchen is very modern, yet incorporates a very efficient and convenient design—it features many different appliances not typically found in a lot of kitchens today,” adds Jeanine.

A few of these features include a microwave drawer in the island directly across from the sink. This sleek built-in, undercounter unit offers powerful ventilation with convection cooking and a full cover LCD display.

A great feature of modern convenience is the pot filler above the 5-burner gas cooktop. The chic, wall mounted faucet has an articulating arm that makes filling a pot less time consuming and less of a strain on your back as it eliminates the need to carry a 20-pound pot of water from the sink to the stovetop.

Above the cooktop is a stylistic yet very functional feature—Whirlpool’s 36-inch glass kitchen hood with glass edge LED lighting. “The hood’s lighting automatically activates when the kitchen lights are dimmed, so there’s no need for a night light. It’s a modern aesthetic that thoroughly complements the overall design, plus its built-in noise reduction technology is very pleasant on the ears,” says Jeanine.

The 4-door French refrigerator offers the ultimate flexibility and innovation in storage with separate drawers for commonly used items and a more efficient way to quickly see and organize produce.

To further complement the design, Chuck and Jeanine chose to incorporate espresso colored cabinetry, into the overall color palette, for the island and wine bar. “The idea here is to make it appeal to a lot of people and the trend today in kitchens is to incorporate a couple of primary colors into the overall design,” Jeanine says.

“We get a lot of compliments on our home, and especially the kitchen design,” she adds. “A lot of people find that our take on modern chic meets their idea of contemporary elegance."
