Live, Love, Laugh

Family motto leads to a perfect home in Innisbrook

It was a tough decision for the Boesch family to leave their waterfront home in Ozona but the lure of building a new home in Palm Harbor’s upscale Innisbrook community proved too much. “This is my husband’s dream. We love this community,” Sheri says. “It is so safe here. The kids can run around and ride their bikes all over. And,” she adds with a chuckle, “we love being able to go for dinner at the golf club when I don’t feel like cooking.”

Unique spaces for all

With four active children, Michael and Sheri knew they wanted a safe, clean neighborhood and they knew the style of home they were looking for. “We both love the Tuscan, Mediterranean look. I always knew that when we were ready to build that I wanted Mike Campagna to do it—he’s a magician,” Sheri says affectionately. “He builds a phenomenal home!”

After looking around for several years, they made the move. “We took the Campagna model home in Trinity, flipped it and put it on steroids,” Sheri says laughing. Those “steroids” included a porte-cochere leading to a separate building, affectionately called “Hunee’s House” that includes a two-car garage and half-bath downstairs and a full guy’s room complete with game tables, TVs and a full bar. Michael is a die-hard Buccaneers fan, as evidenced by the extensive collection of signed sports memorabilia decorating the walls. “Smoke cigars, play poker…I don’t care what you do as long as you do it out there,” Sheri jokes.

This 7,200-square-foot home provides plenty of room for this busy family to spread out comfortably. The grand foyer, with its soaring 30-foot ceiling, sets the tone. A private office and formal dining room flank either side of the double front doors and a small wine cellar is tucked beneath the curving staircase, which arcs up to the second floor. Directly ahead, the small formal living room space houses a grand piano and features tall windows overlooking the handsome pool, outdoor patios and golf course beyond. Cascades of rich silk draperies highlight the view.

The spacious master bedroom and bathroom suite take up the right wing of the home. Decorated in dark wood furniture and upholstered in deep tans and browns, this restful space is a favorite snoozing spot for Mongo, the family’s English bulldog. Big doors open into the elegant master bath which features dark wood cabinetry with elegant countertops of brown and ivory marble. A sunny tiled walk-through shower with arched glass windows resides behind the large spa tub.

The sparkly bling on the cabinet pulls hints at one of Sheri’s favorite spaces—her closet. “This is my time-out room. When Mommy hides, they always know where to find me,” she laughs.

Bright pink walls, creamy white cabinetry with rhinestone encrusted pulls, white carpeted floor and two soft, feminine, upholstered chairs make this the perfect place to escape for a glass of wine and some “girl time.”

Upstairs is the kids’ realm. Directly at the top of the stairs is a large playroom complete with dollhouses, games and beanbag chairs for playing video games. Down the hall are three children’s bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Bright blue walls and dark wood cabinets differentiate the son’s room from his sisters’ more feminine abodes decorated in pastel colors. A wide hallway between the rooms provides built-in computer workspaces and storage cabinets for study time.

Rich old-world theme

To the left of the entrance foyer stretches the public areas of the home including the kitchen, family room, home movie theater, guest bedroom and laundry area. Earth tones dominate as the old-world theme is continued in most of these areas. The heavy wood beamed ceiling, which highlights the kitchen and family room, ties in well with the massive Marge Carson furniture decorating the room —a natural choice when husband Mike stands 6'6" tall.

Sheri had a very strong idea of what she wanted for furnishings so she chose the furnishings and fixtures herself and did most of the decorating in the home. Karen Campagna, whose design company Karen Campagna Interiors does the design work for Campagna Homes, worked with daughter Laura to choose the paint colors and design of the elegant draperies throughout the home.

In the kitchen, a large center island features ivory washed cabinetry while the perimeter cabinets are stained with darker walnut tones. The large Wolf range is topped by a massive cast stone hood, which again accentuates that old-world feel. Gold and ivory toned granite countertops and wrought iron lighting fixtures tie all the elements together.

For family movie nights and party time, the adjacent theater room seats eight in plush leather furniture and a full bar in the corner means no running to the kitchen for drinks. This room also opens to the pool bath and workout room at the far end of this wing of the home.

Fun in the sun

A busy home like this is not complete without a big outside play area for both adults and kids alike. Airy covered patios provide plenty of seating and the full outdoor kitchen with an adjacent fire pit makes outdoor entertaining a breeze. The freeform pool includes fiber optic lighting, a sunning platform and a built-in water level table. The focal point though is the man-made cave housing the Jacuzzi with a dive platform and slide coming off the top of the structure.

It is clear that this is a well loved home. In fact, wall art in the family room stating “Live, Love, Laugh” accurately sums up this family’s view of life.
