Pros pick their favorite contemporary bathrooms

  • Housetrends
Bathroom design focuses on minimal furnishings
This bathroom design features a very minimalist style, with scarce, but comfortable furnishings and the only color coming from a single painting.

We’ve asked top designers and contractors in each of our Housetrends’ cities to share their favorite contemporary bathrooms. Check out their cool contributions while collecting incredible bathroom design ideas for your own space.

Tile adds a shock of color to a white space

In a space created by Novum Custom Homes, tile surrounds this whole bathtub and surrounding wall, adding a dazzling combination of color to an otherwise all-white bathroom.

Glass tile wall adds privacy between the bathtub and shower areas

In this bathroom designed by Scott Architecture, dark flooring and walls dominate the area and add a wonderful contrast against the glass tile wall and white silhouette tub.

Bathroom tile ideas separate and bridge two spaces

Several bathroom tile ideas were used throughout this space, created by Dave Fox Design-Build Remodelers, for a variety of reasons, but the main idea used was a mixture of tile shapes and sizes that create separate zones between the shower and tub with a stool at the threshold to connect the two areas.

Bathroom tile boasts a unique texture

This bathroom tile features a crocodile-like texture, which, when paired with the contemporary steel and resin light up sink makes this powder room, designed by Sebastian Design Implementation, unforgettable.

Glass mosaic tile is the first thing to greet guests

The stunning glass mosaic tile accent wall serves as a focal point in this bathroom by Kitchen & Bath Concepts of Pittsburgh. Overhead, an architectural bulkhead conceals a ceiling-mounted tub filler.

Television helps to create a spa-like atmosphere

This bathroom includes key relaxation elements, everything from television to a plethora of natural light.

Technology allows users to open cabinetry by barely lifting a finger

Technology isn’t often seen in bathrooms, but this space by Luxe Home and Design embraces it wholeheartedly with medicine cabinets that lift up electronically with the touch of a button, located conveniently at the bottom of the cabinet.

LED lights light the way in this bathroom

The glass countertop, in this bathroom by Griffey Remodeling, is back-lit with motion activated LED lights, so when someone enters the bathroom the surface lights up and turns into an instant night light.

Bathroom design favors convenience factors

This bathroom design features a lot of convenience factors, including multiple mirrors in a variety of locations and nifty towel racks right below the his and her sinks, just a step away from the shower.

Windows add in light while still allowing for privacy

In this bathroom created by Renovations Unlimited, the art glass windows near the pedestal tub allow natural light to filter into the area while still affording privacy without having to incorporate blinds into the space.

Bathroom design focuses on minimal furnishings

This bathroom design features a very minimalist style, with scarce, but comfortable furnishings and the only color coming from a single painting.

Bathroom design features floating shower effect

This bathroom design, created by Champion Residential Builders, has a unique feature not seen in most bathrooms. An illusion makes the shower almost look like it is hovering off the floor.
