Spirit of the season

Homeowner recreates gorgeous holiday decorations—in different color schemes—year after year

The main living room, which features two matching fireplaces, is home to a pair of nine-foot trees that establishes the color scheme, such as the white and red themes seen here.

This original fireplace features an oversized mirror above the mantel and elegant carved molding.

Oversized floral arrangements and green garland draped over the mantel and windowsills are adorned with the color theme for each year.

Garland, colorful sprigs and ribbon adorn the staircase, while another large Christmas tree can be seen at the bottom of the stairs.

When decorating for the holidays, the homeowner focuses on a different color each year—gold, red, white and green on green.

The homeowner has preserved the original lacy iron work and white brick facade of the 1840 home.
