The art of living

Urban vibe lures a couple downtown

Like almost everything else in this house, the kitchen furniture is a throwback to a different time. Green and chrome 1950s school chairs are scattered around a White & White glass dining table, which turns into a coffee table thanks to a remote control.

Everything in this home's interior has a story, from the vintage black lacquer sofa to the vintage black lacquer sofa to the 1950's coffee table made from the trunk of a sequoia tree after it fell.

Boasting a mix of Silver Oak, aluminum, white and gray lacquered cabinets, all topped with Amazon Gray quartz counters, this kitchen also offers an abundance of storage. The pantry and wall cabinet hide a a microwave and built-in coffee machine, while there are double drawers along the cooking wall.

Despite the retro decor throwback, this living room comes equipped with all modern conveniences, including a flat-screen television, which is set on a swivel so it can be viewed from the kitchen as well.

The highlight of this kitchen is the curved Pedini cabinetry, something that the homeowner saw and immediately fell in love with.

This homeowner wanted an Italian-inspired kitchen design that would be a backdrop for artwork.

Master bedroom designs often vary based on the homeowner's taste. Situated with a Cubist Art Deco bed, two mirrored consoles by Serge Roche and a 1949 French movie poster, this room clearly proclaims the owner's love for bold, colorful designs

Of all of the decor scattered about this room, including a photo of Muhammad Ali and The Beatles, the white piano that the homeowner's received from their relatives snags the spotlight.

A ‘50s Murano chandelier adds elegance, and a slightly retro vibe, to this walk-in closet.
